Access

To attach an object to various application areas, or to detach it, select the App. areas context-sensitive menu option or button, depending on the situation, in one of the following tabs or dialog boxes:

With certain types of object, this dialog box can be called from the Define an Object window. The Attach and Detach buttons are not displayed. This dialog box is merely a viewer; no actions are possible.

 

Lists

Application areas

List of application areas to which the current object is attached, with the name and description of each.

By default, this list is sorted by name. You can change the sorting order by clicking the column headers.

Multiple-selection list.

 

Buttons

Attach

Opens a dialog box that lets you attach the current object to one or more application areas.

In this second dialog box:

- any application areas already associated are checked and shown shaded;

- any application areas that cannot be attached are unchecked and shown shaded (The Information column explains the reason for this);

- all other application areas are unchecked and displayed normally.

This button is inactive if the object is private and there are one ore more application areas in the list. This button is not present if the dialog box is called from the Define an Object window.

 

Detach

Detaches the current object from the selected application areas. You can reattach it to the same application areas by clicking the Attach button.

This button is inactive if no application areas have been selected in the list. This button is not present if the dialog box is called from the Define an Object window.

 

Enter

This button closes the dialog box.

Keyboard shortcut: Esc.
