The Excel file contains three tabs:

Tab 1: Export – Import

Export no. (column A)

This is simply the number of the export sequence (allowing the data to be sorted, for example, to find the links to any associated constants).

No. (column B)

Internal constant number used by the translation manager. This number must not be changed.

Source text (column C)

Constant text. The text must not be changed.

Type (column D)

Constant type (or, where applicable, the type changed via the translation manager).

Length (column E)

Constant length.

Merged Constant/New Name (column F)

Status of the constant.

  • Constant with a single source:

0 translation

the column contains "N"

New, as yet untranslated constant.

1 translation

the column contains "?"

This constant should have been validated as it already has at least one translation.

N translations (in all languages)

the column contains "?"

This constant should have been validated as it has already been translated into all languages.

  •  Merged constant with more than one source:

0 translation

the column contains "NM"

New group of merged constants, with no translation.

1 translation

the column contains "?"

This group should have been validated as it has already been translated into all languages.

N translations (in all languages)

the column contains "?"

This group should have been validated as it has already been translated into all languages.

Validated (column G)

Validation status of the constant.

Logically, as the tool exports only non-validated constants, this column should be empty when the export process is performed. However, during imports, constants with values set to X or x are validated in the environment.

Assoc. (column H)

Indicates whether or not the constant belongs to a group of associated constants.

Comment (column I)

Comment associated with the constant.

Window / Transaction (column M)

Shows the name of the window or transaction. In the case of a constant linked to a control in a Visual Adelia Interactive program, the name of the control is added. With template constants, the constant's coordinates on the layout are specified.

Object (column N)

Specifies the object type: Window title, Tab heading, WAI constant, WAI resource or the name of the graphical object's DLL and its property number (e.g. "BUTTON[-22] for the tooltip property of a BUTTON graphical object - see the explanatory text in the Excel file).

Application area (column O)

Application area to which the program is attached.

Access (column P)

Double click on a cell in this column opens the appropriate layout manager in order to view the constant (this may be the Visual layout manager, the report designer or the transaction designer, depending on the type of constant).

Internal key (column Q)

This column contains the constant's internal Adelia references. It is used during imports. This column must not be modified.
