This command is used to convert macro-instructions into management rules. This procedure involves creating management rules based on existing macro-instructions, and replacing the macro-instruction calls with management rule calls in the program template, management rule and program sources.

Access

To convert macro-instructions into management rules, open an MS-DOS command window and enter the command MITOMR <environment name>.

Displayed data

Environment

Name of the current environment.

Macro-instructions

Number of macro-instructions in the environment.

Check boxes

Display

Each box corresponds to a different macro-instruction conversion level:

"0"

Macro-instructions not yet converted.

"1"

Macro-instructions converted into management rules.

"2"

Macro-instructions whose calls have been replaced by calls for the corresponding management rules, in the program template, management rule and program sources.

Check the boxes for the macro-instructions that you want to be shown in the list.

Radio buttons

Sort criterion

Check the button for the chosen criterion: the list will show the macro-instruction or management rule names in alphabetical order.

Lists

Macro-instructions

List of the macro-instructions in the environment. The following details will be shown for each macro-instruction: name, conversion level (see check boxes "Display", above) and name of the relevant management rule.

Extended-selection list.

Buttons

Rename

Opens a dialog box that lets you rename the management rules associated with the selected macro-instructions.

Only management rules associated with macro-instructions with a conversion level of 0 or 1 can be renamed.

This button is only enabled when one or more macro-instructions are selected from the list.

Note: Double-clicking on a macro-instruction in the list will have the same effect as this button.

Create rules

This button creates the management rules (switch from level 0 to level 1).

Once the operation is complete, an anomaly report will be prepared in the Document editor.

Update sources

This button updates the sources in the program templates, management rules and programs that contain the matching macro-instructions (switch from level 1 to level 2). Any macro-instruction calls will be replaced by calls to the corresponding management rules, associated with the INSERT_MR 4GL instruction.

Once the operation is complete, an anomaly report will be prepared in the Document editor.

The program source update procedure also updates the use of management rules by the programs.

Enter

Closes the dialog box.
