Warning: This menu is only available when the Screen layout manager is called for a program. If it is called for a transaction template, the menu is replaced with the Transaction template menu.

This menu offers all the options for defining or modifying the transaction.

Save

This option saves the modifications in the database.

If the transaction has not been verified, a message mentions it and prompts the user to do so before saving.

If errors were detected during the last verification performed, a message mentions it and asks whether to proceed with saving.

Note: All the processing operations of the Layout manager are performed in memory. Thus, the modifications are applied to the database after saving only. If you exit the Layout manager without saving your work, the database is not modified. In this case, a message reminds you that you did not save and asks for confirmation before quitting without saving.

Verify

In Adelia Studio, the creation process of a transaction is entirely interactive, i.e. it allows all field handlings and modifications on the screen. Therefore, it is important to check that the mandatory consistent rules are complied with, before saving the transaction.

The Verify option checks the consistency of the operations performed on the transaction as well as the validity of these operations. Then, the Verification dialog box for the transaction opens and displays the list of warnings or of error messages.

Logical entities

This option modifies the access to a logical entity (used by one of its logical properties placed on the transaction), as well as the data flow of this entity.

This option is not available if no variable coming from the LDM was placed on the transaction.

General characteristics

This option opens a dialog box which is used to modify:

    • the general characteristics of the transaction which have not been defined at the program level;

    • the use of function keys;

    • the association of the transaction with a transaction template.

Management rules

This option opens a dialog box which is used to display, and possibly exclude, the BT, ET, BI, EI, BV, EV, BC, EC, BS or ES class rules assigned to the transaction template of a transaction.

Graphical attributes

This option opens a dialog box which is used to add graphical features to the transaction for PC generation.

Technical documentation

This button opens the Document Editor which is used to create or modify the technical documentation of a transaction.

User documentation

This button opens the Document Editor which is used to create or modify the user documentation of a transaction.

This option only appears for transactions whose help (defined at the program level) is of DSPF type, or for transactions without help.

Click here for further information about the transactional user documentation.

General help

This option opens a dialog box which is used to display, create or modify field-level help characteristics.

It is only available for transactions whose help (defined at the program level) is of Office/Vision 400, DSPF or Panel Group type.

Printer setup

This option opens a Windows system dialog box which is used to select and configure the printer.

Print the transaction

This option prints a comprehensive description of the transaction.

The printed result mentions:

    • the name of the program and its description;

    • the number of the transaction and its description;

    • the type of transaction and the number of lines and columns;

    • the design of the transaction;

    • the list of function keys used and their type;

    • the list of the transaction formats and their position.

The printing job is submitted to the Job manager.

Exit

This option closes the Screen layout manager.

If the transaction has not been saved, a message asks for confirmation before quitting without saving. If the transaction has not been verified, a message mentions it.

Keyboard shortcut: Alt+F4.
