Name

Name of the file where the generated source will be stored.

Name of the library where the generated source file will be stored.

For a first generation, the system provides the following defaults:

    • if the program is private, the name of the program source library specified at the application area level.

    • otherwise, the name of the program source library specified in the environment or application area attributes.

Characteristics

This button opens a dialog box which is used to specify the generation characteristics of a program.

 

Object file

Create object

This check box is used to accept or reject the creation of the object file.

Checked

The object will be generated.

Default: box checked.

 

Adelia debug

This box is used to determine whether the elements necessary in order to debug (using Adelia ILE debugger) the generated program are retained.

Checked

The elements are retained (i.e. debugging will be possible).

Default: standard choice made in the environment attributes.

 

Multilingual generation

Checked

The program will be generated in all of the translation manager's maintained languages. It will then be possible to run the program in those languages.

If the program has not been extracted in the translation manager: the box is unchecked and shaded.

If the program is public: by default, the choice is made in the environment attributes.

If the program is private: by default, the choice is made in the application area attributes (or in some cases inherited from the environment attributes).

 

Delete sources

Checked

The generated source files and modules are deleted once the generation procedure has been performed.

 

Data entry

Name

Name of the executable object.

By default, the IBM program name entered when the program was created is proposed.

 

Library

Name of the library where the program object will be stored.

For a first generation, the system provides the following defaults:

    • if the program is private, the name of the program object library specified at the application area level.

    • otherwise, the name of the program object library specified in the environment or application area attributes.

Layout

Layout code of the report selected in the list of reports.

 

Data entry

Member

Name of the selected report's source member in which the generated PRTF's source will be placed. This will also be the name of the generated PRTF object.

 

Lists

Reports

List of reports assigned to the program.

For each report, you can specify the printer file names, the libraries, and the options of the CRTPRTF command which will be executed for each report; see the explanation for the CRTPRTF button below.

Create printer files

This check box is used to accept or reject the creation of printer files.

Checked

The printer files will be generated.

Default: box checked.

 

Details

If this box is checked, the Modify button opens a dialog box which is used to modify the AS/400 generation characteristics of a report.

 

Submit

Checked

The Generate button submits the generation job for the program.

This box is only active if the program generation was run from the 4GL Editor.

Default: box not checked.

 

Buttons

CRTPRTF

This button opens a dialog box which is used to configure the CRTPRTF command for the report selected in the list.

 

Modify

This button has two possible actions:

If the Details box was checked, it opens a dialog box which is used to modify the AS/400 generation characteristics of a report.

Otherwise, it updates the modified report in the list.

This button is not active when no report is selected in the list.

Buttons

Generate (validation)

This button validates the modifications made and starts the requested generation (Working with a Batch Program, Working with Programs).

 

Cancel

This button closes the dialog box without validating the modifications made or starting the generation.

Keyboard shortcut: Esc.
