Access

To modify the properties of a menu item, you must either:

  • Select the Details option from the item's context-sensitive menu in the Work with menus dialog box.

  • Double-click the item if it is a sheet .

  • Double-click the item while holding down the Shift key, if it is a node .

 

Data entry

Name

Identifier of the item. This identifier must be unique within a specific menu.

Adelia will assign a default name to each item.

 

Text

Character string displayed by the menu item.

The "&" character can be used to underline the following character, allowing the user to open the menu by pressing "Alt + the underlined character" (mnemonic) when executed.

The character sequence "\t" is used to write a tabulation.

 

Lists

Primary

List of the keys that can be used to build a keyboard shortcut.

Extended-selection list.

 

Secondary

List of the keys that can be used to build a keyboard shortcut.

 

Check boxes

Halftone

Checked

The menu item will appear in sunken relief, and the Active box will be unchecked automatically. The item will not trigger any events when the program is run.

 

Checked

Checked

Draws a tick in front of the item.

 

Active

Not checked

The item will not be active. It will not trigger any events. If the Halftone box is not checked, the item will look exactly like an active item.

Default: box checked.

 

Visible

Checked

The item will be visible.

Default: box checked.

 

Default

Checked

Displays the menu item in bold.

This check box is not active where the menu being defined is the layout menu.

 

Displayed data

Image frame

This frame, located below the check boxes, will contain the image associated with the current item, if it is an "Image" type item.

 

Buttons

Select

This button opens a Windows system dialog box which is used to open an image file (with the ".BMP" extension).

The selected image will be displayed inside the frame located below the check boxes, replacing the default image.

This button is only active where the current item is an "Image" item.

 

Modify

This button validates any modifications made and closes the dialog box.

 

Cancel

This button closes the dialog box without validating any modifications.
