Access

To import logical properties into the CDM, select the Import properties into CDM option in the context-sensitive menu (or the equivalent button) in the Logical properties tab of the "Import conceptual properties" dialog box.

When logical properties are imported into the CDM, a link can be established between a logical property and a conceptual property if they satisfy the following conditions:

  • Name identity.

  • Type identity (type, length and decimals).

  • Same date format (date type).

  • Same list of values or limit values.

  • Compatible SQL constraints (NULL accepted).

  • The conceptual property is attached to the current application area.

A warning is issued if, once the link has been created, the property is no longer visible in all the application areas to which the entity is attached.

You can calculate the conceptual property's short name in two ways:

  • By truncating the short name of the logical property.
It consists in removing one or several characters at the start or at the end of the logical property's short name.
  • Call of an external calculation program.
Call of a batch VADELIA program given by the user, which calculates the conceptual property's short name according to the logical property's short name, the entity's name and the physical file's name.
This program MUST comply with the following interface:
    ALPHA(10) LogicalPropertyShortName
    ALPHA(15) LogicalEntityName
    ALPHA(10) LogicalEntityPhysName
    ALPHA(10) ConceptualPropertyShortName
