The 4GL Editor displays the open documents (except for Visual layouts) in a tab interface.

In this operating mode, a tab bar is displayed at the top of the screen. It presents the document type and name. The document is displayed full-screen mode.

For a program, the user can switch from full screen "tab" mode to a traditional positioning using positioning options from the "Edit" menu or the tab's context-sensitive menu.

In "tab" mode, the editor window may be split into two to display two documents side by side. This separation only appears if each display area contains at least one document.

The active document tab is highlighted.

A document can be closed by clicking on the icon displayed in the tab (this icon turns into a close button when hovered over with the mouse).

The active tab can be moved around the tab bar.

To do this, select the document then click on the tab text, holding down the button until the cursor appears as a hand. The tab can then be moved from right to left until the mouse button is released.
